scents, abandoned mines and caves carved from rock.
Our Safari starts in Alghero, the most “Italian” of Sardinia’s
holiday towns, with its old centre and its tight web of narrow
lanes jammed with boutiques, bars and restaurants. We cycle
along the sea, hugging a dramatic coastline where the water
sparkles aqua green and Majestic cliffs tumble from rugged
landscape. Lunch stops are often on unspoilt beaches while
we sample the delights of an Italian picnic!
The tour takes us through Medieval villages such as Bosa and
Calasetta, passing colonies of pink flamingos, en route to
one of the most beautiful spots on the island: the white quartz
beach of Is Arutas.
We continue along quiet country roads following the slow rhythm
of Italian life, before finishing up on a high as we cycle
along the wonderful “Costa de Sud”, a dramatic 20 km cycle
along Sardinia’s southern coast.
