Northeast Slovenia offers the appealing combination
of cycling through charming countryside dominated by vineyards
and some inclusive wine tasting, coupled with enjoying thermal
spas to relax those muscles at the end of the day. Less mountainous
than western Slovenia and with a lower average mileage, this
tour is a great choice for those looking for something a little
easier or indeed for families.
The tour starts and finishes in Maribor, with its medieval
city centre and lively cafe/bars on the banks of the Drava
river. The safari includes wine tasting as well as staying
at a thermal spa complex with its swimming pools, treatment
rooms etc on the rest day in Moravske Toplice. In addition
there is attractive countryside and history to enjoy, as we
visit the oldest town in the country - Ptuj visiting castles
and museums en-route. Excursions into nearby Hungary and Croatia
can also be made. Oh, and did we mention the wine?!
We run both guided & self guided tours in this part of
Slovenia for you to choose from; click on the name of the
