Tour

Spain - Majorca Coast to Coast

Spain - Majorca Coast to Coast

Degree of difficulty - B

Majorca from the North coast to the South coast. Majorca in its pureness; the journey goes into villages and beautiful landscapes, through the most authentic places of the island. The route passes through different areas of the island touching the spectacular Mediterranean coast, the less touristy but surprising interiors, the rolling hills and the spectacle of some of its mountains.

A one week active holiday to enjoy Majorca on a bicycle. An adventure to experience the marvels of the island- all of this without having to mention the good taste and variety of the gastronomy of Majorca in order to enjoy the Majorcan culture and tradition on the table.

DAY 1 Arrival- Port de Pollença
Individual arrival to the Port de Pollenca. Port de Pollença is a coastal village in “Serra de Tramuntana” which is declared as a World Heritage. It is situated in a very strategic place, in front of the beautiful bay of Pollença which is a starting point for routes of cycle tourism, excursions, hiking, and an ideal village to start our passage to cross the island from North to South.Overnight stay in the Port de Pollenca.

DAY 2 Port de POLLENÇA-Cap Formentor-Port de POLLENÇA (approx. 36km – mountainous)
The first stretch of cycling takes you on a spectacular initial stage, a climb to “Cap Formentor”, a mystic place of the island with views to the island of Menorca and an unmatched panorama. The sinuous road climbs up till it reaches the light house with continuous curves and beautiful views. A place that leaves no one indifferent.

DAY 3 Port de POLLENÇA - LLUBÍ or SINEU (approx. 40km flat land)
A soft stage with a lot of plains and ends at the village of Llubi. We will be bordering the bay of Pollença and we will cut across the village of Alcudia where it is worth visiting its little part of the old town and its square.
There are narrow paths in the midst of cultivated fields. Llubi is a very picturesque village located on a small mountain. It also offers shops and restaurants, beautiful views of the “Serra de Tramuntana” and a peaceful and cosy atmosphere very typical of the interior villages of Majorca.

DAY 4 Llubi-Agroturismo S’Horabaixa (approx. 38km flat land)
Mainly a plain stage that crosses different villages of the “Pla de Mallorca”. Villages with typical Majorcan architecture: Sineu, Montuiri or Porreres, where the most rural, authentic and traditional part of Majorca can be appreciated. This stage goes through small secondary roads, and asphalted paths in the midst of fields and forest till it reaches the S’Horabaixa Agroturismo (Rural hotel called S’Horabaixa). It is a small oasis of peace and rest, an ideal place to spend two nights in the midst of cultivated fields and vineyards.

DAY 5 S’Horabaixa– Santuario de Cura – S’Horabaixa (approx 62km mountainous)
Today's cycle tour is the longest stage and with more ramps on the way. It is worth the ascent of 5 km in order to climb up to the “Santuario de Cura” for its spectacular views of the whole island, 360 degrees. We will pass through the beautiful village of Randa and small roads with very little traffic. No doubt, it is a beautiful stage and with the challenge of climbing till the Santuari de Cura. Let the day fade away with music and a drink by the swimming pool.

DAY 6 S’Horabaixa – Cala Mondrago (approx. 42km flatland)
This is a stage that will take us to the East coast through two of the most beautiful villages of the East:
Portocolom and Portopetro. These are fishermen villages that conserve the yesteryear seafaring traditions and maintains the relaxed and peaceful atmosphere of the sea. The route also passes through rural and interior villages like S’horta or Calonge. The stage ends in an unsurpassable place, in the Agroturisme de “Na Martina”, situated next to the natural park of Mondragó and its beautiful beaches.

DAY 7 Cala Mondrago – Cap Salines – Cala Mondrago (approx. 52km flatland)
This is the final stage with great prominence to the sea. The route on the whole is very plain and reaches the light house of “cap salines”, a very special place for its views to the island of Cabrera. Just nearby are a few virgin beaches with turquoise blue waters for a dip before starting out on our return to the Agroturismo. During this stage we will pass through the villages called Santanyi and Llombards, perfect places to stop and visit their streets or simply have a relaxing drink.

DAY 8 Departure
Breakfast and departure towards the airport. Depending on the flight timings, the luggage can be kept in the accommodation till it is picked up.
