This is a wonderfully diverse tour, between
two of Europe’s most enchanting capital cities. Following
cycle paths in Austria and small country roads in Hungary,
the route offers superb vistas of the pristine rolling forested
hills, quiet marshland and lush green meadows that are so
typical of this part of Central Europe.
Your journey begins amidst the splendour
of the Hapsburg Palaces and aromatic coffee houses of Vienna.
We meander our way along the Danube cycle paths into Hungary
where delicious Goulash, local wines and schnapps await to
reward the cyclist. Highlights of the tour include the monastic
town of Gyor, the splendour of the old Capital Estergom and
its cathedral and the beauty and tranquillity of the open
road.
The tour ends up amongst the shops and stalls of Szentendre
before taking a short boat trip up the Danube in the city
of Budapest. A breathtaking way to enter a city so filled
with grandeur where we spend our final night.
